Web Design & Blog Customization Process:
A typical custom web design or blog customization project takes about 4-12 weeks, depending on which package you order, if you are readily available for questions and review of samples provided, and if all the information for your website is in our possession. Please know before starting a project with us that our primary and preferred form of communication during the course of the project is e-mail.
What we need to start:
Outline
A simple outline of what pages you would like on the site is extremely helpful. For example, from the home page you would like to have the links: About Us, Services, Products, and Contact Us.
Content
You should have most, if not all, of the content for your homepage and the rest of the pages that will be on your site. Changes to the content can be made later, however we need at least a good near-final version, including photos and text so we can leave adequate room and design each page appropriately.
Ideas
It is extremely important for us to have some ideas of what YOU want the design to look like and what feeling you want it to express. Please have a few examples in mind when we talk about starting your project.
Design process:
Email, Phone, or Face-to-Face Consultation
It is important that we connect via email, phone or in person to share knowledge about your project. We can share tips and suggestions as to how you can generate the outline, content and ideas, while you can share with us the scope of your project. After connecting, we will be better able to suggest a package that will work for you.
Deposit & Payment
50% of the project cost is due prior to starting design work for your project. You will receive an email invoice via our billing system for the deposit and you will be able to make your payment via check or PayPal. Now we’re ready for the fun part to begin!
Design Samples
We will provide you with three layout design samples. There is no limit on the number of revisions to your designs.
Revisions & Next Payment
Once the layout design is finalized, the second payment in the amount of 25% of the project cost is due (we’ll send you an invoice via email).
Development of Site
After refining the overall design and receiving your approval, we’ll set up your hosting account (if necessary) and start on the coding of the design into a working website. From here on out you can see as updates are made to the site. Your site will be taking shape right before your eyes!
Final Review & Payment
We will ask you to look over the site to give us the final approval and once any revisions are made we will send you the final invoice for the remaining 25%.
Launch of Website
Once we receive the final payment, your site can go live! If you aren’t quite ready to go live when we finish the design, that’s ok too! When you are ready to launch, we’ll help you get your site launched.
Email Marketing Process
We will first consult with you to go over the content you would like to include in your e-newsletter. We will also help you sign up with Constant Contact and choose a template & discuss ways to customize the template to reflect the branding you have established with your business. Then it is time to get to work - we will complete the design and development of the e-newsletter, while you write the text to be included. You then send us the text, we insert it into the customized template & schedule the email to go out!
